Welcome to The Yorkshire Rescue
We are a Yorkshire based charity that, since 2009, has focused on helping neglected, mistreated and unwanted dogs to find their forever homes.
To date, we have successfully rescued and re-homed over 2000 dogs in the UK.
Every animal deserves to have a safe and loving environment to live a happy new life. Every animal deserves a second chance.
We have recently re-branded to The Yorkshire Rescue. Our future aspiration is to continue our work rescuing dogs in need and expand to rescue other pets requiring a new home. The Yorkshire Rescue recognises the current financial climate and the impact it will have on pet owners in the coming years. In preparation for this we are looking to expand our work and help pet owners in need of support via our new Prevention Into Rescue scheme which includes a BRAND NEW pet food bank based in the Yorkshire region.
(Please note: our re-branding does not effect any existing donation by Standing Order, PayPal, Easy Fundraising or Just Giving).
Our Mission Statement
The Yorkshire Rescue is a registered charity based in Yorkshire (Previously known as Moorview Rescue) which aims to rescue and re-home animals in desperate need. This includes animals with long term health needs, behavioural issues and also animals who have been abandoned, who may be more difficult to re-home.
The Yorkshire Rescue will also help animals who are in need of care and attention due to neglect, maltreatment, sickness, poor circumstances and abandonment.
We will also assist in the event of personal circumstances changing within the animals home.
The Yorkshire Rescue will always work in the animals best interest.
Animal welfare is vital and by education and supporting owners and the wider community we aim to reduce the number of animals coming into rescue by offering advice and support through our prevention into rescue scheme and rehabilitation training for animals will complex needs.
The Yorkshire Rescue currently has a trusted network of fosterers who offer a temporary safe haven for our animals until their forever home is found.
Key Values
Integrity & Honesty - The Yorkshire Rescue has strong moral principles and acts with honesty towards all those involved within our charity.
Inclusivity - The Yorkshire Rescue embraces diversity within our volunteers, supporters and adopters. We are inclusive with the animals we rescue, and aspire to support animals with medical and behaviourial issues which might otherwise be overlooked.
Compassion and Kindness - The Yorkshire Rescue always acts with compassion toward those who have to give their animal up, whatever the circumstances.
Community - The Yorkshire Rescue is a family. We aim to reach out to our local and wider community, to promote animal welfare and to educate, and to support pet owners and their animals.
Supportive - The Yorkshire Rescue will support people struggling with their personal circumstances, or with training a “difficult” dog, to help them to keep their pet (to avoid that dog going into rescue). We offer the same support to our fosterer and adopters.
Dignity - The Yorkshire Rescue treats both people and animals with the dignity we would want for our own TYR family.
