Animal Foodbank
One of the biggest reasons we hear in rescue for surrendering an animal is that an owner can no longer afford to keep their pet. At The Yorkshire Rescue we never judge an owner. We don’t ask any questions regarding your circumstances – all we ask is what you need for your pets. There can be many reasons why an owner may find themselves in this position and this can be through no fault of their own. We understand that it is very difficult for most people in this financial climate, and with the added responsibility of a much-loved pet it must be heart breaking to have to make a decision to surrender them. We are therefore dedicated to help as many animals and owners as possible.
As part of our prevention into rescue we now run a food bank where pet owners can obtain food, coats, leads, collars, towels and bedding. These will be available throughout areas in North and West Yorkshire, these items will be available as per donation and stock availability.
We unable to supply food to people if they taken on a new pet when they know they are struggling, as we encourage responsible pet ownership.
Our team of volunteers want to help as many of you as possible, and we can’t thank you enough for everyone’s support.
