Prevention into Rescue

Prevention into rescue: this is a scheme we have introduced over the last year and have had a lot of success with. Whist we realise that sometimes a person may see no other option other than to surrender an animal, they often really do not want to and can be very upsetting for the individual or family.

We sit down with the owner to discuss the issues, assess the dog and look to see if there are any alternatives. They may range from offering general advice regarding behavioural issues, to dispelling myths such as “crates are bad”. We offer emotional support to often very frustrated owners and dogs and try to obtain the ultimate goal of preventing a dog coming into rescue.
