LEYLA

Leyla found her forever home 7 years ago, and it’s fantastic to see how she’s getting on now she’s all grown up!

“I got Leyla in November 2014 aged about 9 months. She had come from the pound, I presume thrown out when she got big and bouncy but we'll never know.

I was browsing dogs one day without much intent and saw her picture, which kept coming into my mind for no reason and she was still there a week later. I then did a really silly thing and went to see her in foster with my grown up son.

Fatal!

I hadn't had a dog for about 15 years so was a bit out of practice and of course they are all different. However I had more time as I had recently retired. She was a wild bouncy child and very wilful, but loving. We brought her home with my son saying he would share the walking!

She's great with children, even though we only have the occasional visiting one, and loves to meet and greet people. Not so good with strange dogs these days although she's fine once she's decided she likes them. Just to be safe she's mainly on a long lead.

She's a sensitive soul who is scared of bin lids and car doors banging but will chase a squirrel or rabbit with absolutely no recall whatsoever. She has gone from an unscrupulous cheeky food thief to a patient lady watching in hope and loves to visit my caravan from time to time. We’ve had some good holidays but not too far away as neither of us are brilliant travellers.”
