Find Lulu a Home

Hi! I'm Lulu!

I have been at Moorview Rescue for almost a year now, and none of the rescue volunteers can understand why as I am such a lovely girl. They think I am about seven or eight years old, and possibly some sort of  St Bernard crossbreed; possibly Labrador with a hint of bull breed too. I certainly love the snow so I have that in common with a St Bernard!

A lot of people have been put off because of my size, but I’m not that big ☹️ I'm probably about the size of Labrador.

I am a fantastic houseguest. I'm clean, non-destructive, and just want to snuggle on the sofa. I can be left on my own for reasonable periods of time, so Moorview would consider someone who worked full time.

In terms of training I know it all, all the commands like sit, paw, down, kisses, roll over and wait. Although I'm still a bit rust on come back 😂 Moorview think Iwasn't ever let off lead as my recall is rubbish 😂 .

I love exercise so big quiet walks are brilliant. I like to go to a secure enclosed field and run free off lead.
I'm generally good on the lead but when things take me by surprise I can get anxious and pull and bark. I saw two horses last week and it spooked me but Michelle one of the volunteers, managed to distract me with treats as I love them!

The main issue you might have with me is round other dogs. I am very selective about which dogs I like and which I don't like, which makes me a bit tricky to predict. So, to keep me and other dogs safe, they suggest that I wear a muzzle and not be let off lead unless in a secure enclosure.

At Moorview, I regularly walk with other dogs who they introduce me to carefully. I love going out with them especially Rory, but I can bark and pull when I see other dogs. This is through fear and stress, so my new owner will need to be prepared for this and be able to physically manage me. Moorview say this can be improved with regular and consistent training.

I have also been off lead with a dog here and been fine, but there are dogs I definitely do not like, so I need an owner who can carefully manage this. That really is the only issue a new owner may have with me.I’m also quite prey driven so Moorview said I shouldn't be rehomed with any other pets including cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs etc .

I am amazing with people and I love everyone I meet, especially when they give me lots of fuss. I get lots of walks and toys and treats, but being alone in the kennels is no fun and I really want a family of my own. I've been here almost a year now and seen so many friends come and go... why does no one want me?

Please can you help me? Moorview have literally tried EVERYTHING now with no joy. I've been visiting my local Pets at Home store to fundraise, I've been in the newspaper and on the TV, I've even got my own 2018 calendar, but nothing seems to work!

Please tell all your friends far and wide, my family must be out there somewhere, it's just a case of waiting I guess....
