BENJY & RALPH

Benjy and Ralph both have different stories and definitely different personalities, but they’re now stuck together and are the best of friends! Read both of their stories below.

BENJY

Benjy (Terrier Cross) was adopted by one of our volunteers in the beginning of the first lockdown.

“I did not meet Benjy in the flesh until I did the socially distanced pick-up. I saw his picture on the page and got in touch with Jo to say I would foster him.

He had been in an Essex pound for a little while as lockdown was proving difficult to get him to Moorview. The first couple of days he was quite stressed but he soon settled. I decided to adopt him. We have had a few issues with bed possession and certain food possessiveness but he isn’t allowed to sleep on my bed now - it’s not worth him getting so stressed and angry about me getting into my own bed - so he has a lovely comfy bed in my bedroom and one downstairs, he actually sleeps downstairs now. Benjy is a very loving and cheeky little character and I could not imagine my life without him. He is a bundle of energy and fun and loves nothing better than getting in the car as he knows we are usually going to the seaside or a forest for a long walk.”

RALPH

“Ralph was handed into Moorview as his previous owner’s circumstances had drastically changed.

When I arrived at Moorview to do my volunteering, little sweet Ralph was in the office. Ralph came running up to me and jumped on my lap when I sat in the chair and I got lots and lots of kisses.

I think he chose me.

I introduced him to little Benjy and they seemed to like each other, and there were no cross words. I then decided to take him home to foster that day. Needless to say Ralph was only a foster doggie for one day as the next day I rang Jo and said I wanted to adopt.

Ralph’s previous owner did a brilliant job bringing Ralph up as he is an absolute dream and so well behaved and loving. He is a bit wary around strangers and will bark at them but he soon settles. He is a very good watch dog - nothing gets past him! Benjy has also started to copy the barking!

Benjy and Ralph get on so well and I often catch little Ralphy kissing his brother. It’s so sweet. Ralph sleeps with me so I get doggy cuddles on a night now which is always a bonus. Thank you Moorview for my lovely doggies I could not imagine life without them.”
